Maine CITE, is the state Assistive Technology (AT) program located at the UMA campus in Augusta. We work with Mainers of all ages and all abilities. We provide information and assistance to people about assistive technology, we provide trainings, both in person and via Zoom webinars.  In our AT lab, we offer AT device demonstrations. We loan out AT equipment on a short-term basis through our lending library at AT4Maine.org. Borrowers can try things before they decide to buy it from another AT source, or maybe they need to borrow something due to a short-term disability, or maybe their equipment is broken and they need something to get them through until their equipment is repaired. And we also have a re-use program. If people have equipment that has been gently used that is no being used, they can donate it, and we try to get it refurbished, repaired and make sure it’s in good working condition and get it back to someone else for low-cost.
